One-Board Box – White Oak

This box is made of a single board of Michigan Curly White Oak which was resawed to make multiple bookmatched boards. The grain of the wood appears to be continuously matched around the entire perimeter of the box. The box’s top and bottom come from the same board, with carefully matched miters along all joints, resulting in a matched grain look to appear that the box is made from a single large piece of wood.

The bottom of the box is lined with high-quality full-grain leather. The front applique is black walnut, with a Madagascar Rosewood “whale tail” motif handle. The inside of the box features a three-part hinge also made of Madagascar rosewood.

The box is finished with high gloss lacquer.
